Kyrgyzstan
Kyrgyzstan is a country in the northeast of Central Asia, with the area about 198500 km². The distance from the eastern to the western part is about 900 km, and from the northern to the southern part - about 410 km. The country borders with China in the east, Kazakhstan in the north, Uzbekistan in the west and Tajikistan in the south.
What attracts travelers from all over the world? Snowy peaks, alpine meadows, clear mountain air, filled with the aroma of flowers and plants, mountain rivers and lakes.
Geography
Kyrgyzstan is located within the mountain systems of the Tien Shan (the highest point is Pobeda Peak, 7439 m) and Pamir-Alai. About 90% of the territory lies at altitudes above 1500 m above sea level. Mountain peaks are often covered with glaciers, the largest are the Southern and Northern Inylchek, Kaindy. The mountain ranges are divided by valleys and hollows (Issyk-Kul, Chui, Fergana).
When is better to come to Kyrgyzstan
The climate is continental: the average January temperatures range from -1 to -8 ° C in the valleys and down to -27 ° C in the highlands, July - 15-27 ° and 5 ° C, respectively. The annual rainfall varies from 180 mm in the east to 1000 mm in the south-west. Air temperatures on the coast of Issyk-Kul are less contrasting and all year round they are moderate.
The best time to travel to Kyrgyzstan is spring and early autumn. Landscapes, in the period of short flowering of mountain slopes, are colored with different flowers. Soft and warm weather from early September to early November is accompanied by harvesting, when all bazaars are filled with vegetables and fruits.
Summer from July to August is the best time for traveling in mountainous areas, but do not forget that the weather in mountainous areas is quite variable. November is the time when the rains begin, and in December the mountain peaks are covered with snow, and most of the mountain passes are closed. However, this does not prevent skiers from enjoying the mountain slopes. The ski season starts in late October until the end of April.
Nature
In Kyrgyzstan, there are a lot of rivers, the most important are Naryn, Chu, Talas. There are also many large and small lakes, about 3000. But the biggest is the "Pearl of Tien Shan" - Issyk-Kul Lake, in the north east of the country. The seventh deepest lake in the world is the high-altitude lake Issyk-Kul, located at the height of 1,609 m above sea level.
The lake is located in the Issyk-Kul basin, between the ridges of Küngöy-Ala-Too (from the north) and Terskey Ala-Too (from the south), on the northern shore of which there are numerous guesthouse, health centers and tourist bases. Which attract travelers in spring, summer and autumn.
Flora and Fauna
The vegetation of Kyrgyzstan is diverse, there are about 4000 species of plants, mainly growing in the foothills covered with semi-deserts and dry steppes. Above 1200 m above sea level, the forest belt begins. Forests are formed by Tien Shan fir and juniper. High mountains, above 3000-3500 m, are covered with alpine meadows.
In the Issyk-Kul and Sary-Chelek nature reserves, the Ala-Archa national park, the animal world in mountain forests is represented by the bear, trot, wolf, wild boar, marten, snow leopards, mountain goats and rams, numerous small mammals and birds, and in treeless foothills - mainly rodents, birds and reptiles.
