Traveling to Turkmenistan is always a discovery of something new and unusual. Ancient artifacts were discovered in the ruins of old Merv and Nissa, testify to the existence of an ancient and original civilization, the ruins of ancient settlements and fortresses provide a lot of information about how people lived here in the distant past. Very well-known and interesting also the places that were opened quite recently, such as the burning crater Darvaz or as it is called by many Gates of Hell. One of the most revered animals in Turkmenistan is the horse. The horses of the Akhal-Teke breed are the real wealth of Turkmenistan, the most elegant and beautiful, the fastest and most graceful. The journey will be unforgettable on the uncharted land!
Itinerary:
Day 1: Ashgabat
Arrival to Ashgabat. Meeting at the airport. Hotel accommodation. Rest in the hotel.
Ashgabat is the main city of Turkmenistan. The picturesque capital is located in the foothills of the Kopetdag mountains, 25 km north of the border with Iran. A little more than 900 thousand people live in Ashgabat, which is 13.4% of all population of the country. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 2: Ashgabat
Today we will see the sights of Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan. Ashgabat is included in the Guinness Records Book, as the whitest marble city in the world. Residents of Ashgabat are proud of their city and love it very much.
We will visit the Monument of Independence of Turkmenistan, the Arch of Neutrality, the memorial architectural ensemble "Earthquake". After lunch, drive to the ancient town of Nisa (18 km). Next we will visit the Turkmenbashi Ruhi Mosque (15 km). The mosque is located in the native village of Saparmurat Niyazov Kipchak. Return to Ashgabad, transfer to hotel.
Dinner at a local restaurant with folklore shows.

Day 3: Ashgabat - Mary - Merv
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for the flight to Mary. Arrival to Mary. Transfer to the archaeological site of ancient Merv.
The Merv oasis (40 km from the city of Mary) is one of the most ancient regions of Central Asia, which have mastered irrigation before all. Therefore, it is not surprising that one of the largest cities of the ancient world grew up here - Merv (Margush, Margiana, Maru). After the Sightseeing transfer back to the city Mary for the evening flight to Ashgabat.
Arrival to Ashgabat. Transfer to the hotel.

Day 4: Ashgabat - Darvaza
Morning visit to the stud farm where are bred the famous horses of the Akhal-Teke. The Akhal-Teke horse is a horse bred on the territory of modern Turkmenistan (Akhal-Teke), allegedly about 5,000 years ago. This is the oldest cultural breed that influenced many breeds – Arab, Thoroughabred and others.
After lunch, departure to Darvaza. The distance is 260 km.
Darvaza literally translated as "the gate." The whole area around Darvaza is rich in natural gas. Locals and travelers call it the "Door to Hell," or "Gates of Hell". The diameter of the crater is about 60 meters, depth - about 20 meters. In fact, it really looks terrifying!

Day 5: Darvaz – Konye-Urgench - Dashaguz - Ashgabat
Morning departure from Darvaza to Konye-Urgench. The city of Konye-Urgench - in ancient times was the capital of medieval Khorezm. It is translated from Turkmen language, “Konye-Urgench” as an “old city”. In antiquity, he stood near the old bed of the Amu Darya, on one of the routes of the famous Silk Road.
On the territory of 650 hectares, there are preserved buildings of the XI-XVI centuries: a mosque, a madrassa, a minaret, the ruins of the ancient fortress “Kyrk Molla” and the gate of the caravanserai, which testify to the high level of medieval architecture.
After the sightseeing transfer to Dashaguz Airport, for the flight to Ashgabat.
