Tashkent is the golden crown of Uzbekistan. The city capital, the great poets of Central Asia composed their most beautiful poems and glorified the beauty of its heavens, and the stars of pearly light, and the contour of the mountains, which bask in the rays of the eastern large sun. Moreover, how many names it changed through the history, Shashtepa, Chach, Binkent, and finally, Tashkent.


Before the city received the status of the capital of Uzbekistan and became the most developed and progressive region of the republic, it passed a long historical path of over 2,200 years from small settlements to a large metropolis.


In the period from the second to the first century BC on the territory of modern Tashkent, at the foot of the Tien Shan mountains, in the desert area a small village Shashtepa was formed. According to archaeological sources, it was here that the construction and the formation of a large ancient city began.


During its existence, Tashkent has more than once become a desired trophy of conquerors. The lands of Tashkent joined the greatest empires of the Karakhanids, Khorezmshahs, Temurids, Sheibanids and the Kokand khanate. Moreover, in 1865, Tashkent became part of the Russian Empire and for a long time was the center of the Turkestan general governorship.


After the October Revolution in 1917, Tashkent became the capital of the Uzbek SSR, and in 1991 it was proclaimed the main city of the independent republic of Uzbekistan.
Modern Tashkent plays the most important role for the whole world in the spheres of politics, economy, culture and science, and is the fourth city in the CIS in terms of the number of citizens.


Today Tashkent is the center of development of tourism and hotel business. A large influx of tourists from around the world flocks here in any season.
